The purpose of the Department is to study and analyze historical facts on the modern history of Kazakhstan through the prism of national interests based on new historical data.

View the main tasks of the Department
  • implementation and coordination of fundamental and applied research in the field of Modern history of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • establishment and regular interaction with foreign, national, regional archives, scientific research institutions of foreign countries and the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to study the history of Kazakhstan during the period of Independence;
  • conducting an analysis of the theoretical and methodological parameters and fundamentals of the study of national history;
  • development of a methodology for researching the history of Independent Kazakhstan in each area;
  • preparation of newsletters, analytical notes and reports, practical recommendations, and research proposals for submission to government agencies and other organizations;
  • preparation and publication of monographs, scientific articles, methodological manuals on the modern history of Kazakhstan;
  • participation in the preparation and holding of conferences, seminars, round tables;
  • preparation and publication of collective scientific monographs, collections of articles, methodological manuals on issues within the competence of the Department;
  • systematic updating of the information and analytical database on the domestic, foreign scientific and expert community on the studied issues.

The purpose of the department is to study the history of socio-economic development of Kazakhstan.

  • conducting a historical analysis of the process of socio-economic modernization and state regional policy;
  • conducting a historical analysis and assessment of the effect of state social policy on society;
  • establishment and development of scientific relations with domestic and foreign scientists, research centers, regions of the country (local executive bodies), the national archive, regional archives and scientific centers;
  • conducting historical, documentary and theoretical analysis of the history of the formation of a market economy and civil society;
  • conducting a comparative analysis of the socio-economic history of Kazakhstan with the countries of the far and near abroad;
  • development of recommendations to the management based on research on the history of socio-economic processes in Kazakhstan;
  • development and implementation of the main directions of fundamental and applied scientific research, socially significant projects in the designated areas of activity of the Department;
  • development of scientific and methodological recommendations on the history of socio-economic development of the state;
  • submission of analytical notes and practical recommendations to government agencies, as well as proposals based on the results of ongoing research;
  • preparation and publication of collective scientific monographs, collections of articles, methodological manuals on issues within the competence of the Department;
  • publication of research results on the main areas of activity in leading domestic and foreign specialized publications;
  • organization and holding of international scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round tables and other events on issues within the competence of the Department;

The purpose of the Department is to study the history of Kazakhstan in the context of the EAEU. The study of key areas of EAEU integration, the potential and challenges of Eurasian integration.

  • conducting historical, documentary and theoretical analysis of the ideology of independent Kazakhstan and national politics, ideas, facts of consolidating importance;
  • conducting a scientific analysis of the stages of constitutional development of Kazakhstan and the new political system of society
  • the study of historical relations between Kazakhstan and the world community, the analysis of their modern relations;
  • comparative study of the political system of Kazakhstan, taking into account the international experience of the countries of the Eurasian continent;
  • analysis of Kazakhstan’s development vectors in the modern global world, Kazakhstan’s positions at international summits and forums;
  • systematic generalization of the achievements of the socio-political history of independent Kazakhstan and provision of information and methodological assistance to government agencies, political structures, scientific and educational organizations;
  • analyzing the priorities of Kazakhstan’s statehood and civil society in the light of the “New Kazakhstan” concept;
  • submission of analytical notes and practical recommendations to government agencies, as well as proposals based on the results of ongoing research;
  • preparation and publication of collective scientific monographs, collections of articles, methodological manuals on issues within the competence of the Department;
  • publication of research results on the main areas of activity in leading domestic and foreign specialized publications;
  • organization and holding of international scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round tables and other events on issues within the competence of the Department;
  • systematic updating of the information and analytical database on the domestic, foreign scientific and expert community on the studied issues.

The purpose of the department’s activity as a structural unit of the Institute of State History is to create information and technical conditions for the Institute to carry out fundamental and applied research on the history of statehood; historical and cultural synthesis of spiritual and material values, national history in the context of globalization of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the formation of state self-awareness and ideology of historical knowledge in the Kazakh society.

  • creation of optimal information and technical conditions for the implementation of scientific and research activities of the Institute for the Study of the History of Independent Kazakhstan;
  • participation in the work of the Institute for the promotion of state ideology and national history;
  • information and technical assistance in publishing scientific papers on the modern history of the Republic of Kazakhstan, prepared by scientists of the Institute, including on electronic media;
  • formation of a positive image of the Institute of State History;
  • contributing to the formation of a favorable image of the Institute;
  • implementation of information systems and technologies to support the research activities of the Institute;
  • scientific and informational communication with scientific institutions and leading experts, as well as communication with society;
  • participation in research projects carried out by the Institute;
  • formation and systematic updating of the information and technical base of research on the history of Independent Kazakhstan;
  • publication in the media of information on the results of fundamental and applied research;
  • technical assistance in publishing information and analytical collections prepared by scientists of the Institute;
  • management of scientific and publishing activities of the Institute, including on electronic media;
  • improvement and constant updating of the Institute’s website;
  • formation and control over the implementation of the media plan of the Institute;
  • design development of collections of scientific, popular science articles, monographs and other scientific materials prepared by scientists of the Institute for publication;
  • ensuring uninterrupted Internet operation;
  • maintenance of computer and office equipment of the Institute.

  • Implementation of timely accounting and control over the correct execution of accounting and archival documents and the legality of actions performed;
  • ensuring the correct, expedient, targeted and economical spending of budget funds in accordance with their intended purpose according to the approved budget cost estimates, taking into account the changes made to them in accordance with the established procedure;
  • ensuring full high-quality accounting and control over the timely registration of fixed assets, individual items as part of working capital, and write-off of materials;
  • formation of the Institute’s library fund;
  • accounting and reporting;
  • timely and correct accounting documentation;
  • timely, targeted and correct disbursement of budget funds;
  • conducting public procurement in accordance with the norms of the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • implementation of timely accruals and payments of salaries, allowances and other payments provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Institute’s employees;
  • high-quality and timely provision of accounting and statistical reports to relevant authorities and organizations;
  • conducting an inventory of material assets on time;
  • provision of salary certificates to the Institute’s staff;
  • acquisition of the Institute’s library fund;
  • organization and maintenance of the library’s file collection;
  • providing the Institute’s staff with access to the library collection;
  • arranging the fund, monitoring its storage regime;
  • ensuring the safety of the fund;
  • systematization and processing of incoming literature and information;
  • maintaining total and individual records of books and other media.

  • preparation of materials on bringing employees to financial and disciplinary responsibility;
  • the study of professional, business and moral qualities of employees in the course of their work;
  • preparation of necessary materials for consideration by the seniority commission;
  • timely and high-quality entry of employee data into the Unified Employment Contract Accounting System;
  • timely and high-quality accounting of military personnel of the Institute;
  • drawing up vacation schedules, accounting for the use of vacations by employees, registration of regular and additional vacations in accordance with approved schedules;
  • preparation, registration and accounting of business trips;
  • accounting of working hours;
  • monitoring the state of labor discipline in the structural divisions of the Institute and employees’ compliance with internal regulations;
  • staff turnover analysis;
  • consideration of complaints and applications from employees regarding admission, relocation and termination of an employment contract, violations of labor legislation;
  • planning and management of employees’ career growth – formation of a personnel reserve for promotion, creation of a system of adaptation to the position;
  • improving corporate culture at the Institute – ensuring the implementation of norms and rules that promote the development of corporate culture;
  • advising employees on compliance with professional ethics;
  • development of application forms, questionnaires, reports and other documentation;
  • registration of incoming and outgoing correspondence;
  • the maintenance and preservation of the Institute’s archive in accordance with the norms of the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
