The Republican State Institution “Institute of State History” of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the Institute) was established by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 416 dated May 5, 2008.
The subject of the Institute’s activity is scientific and analytical support of the process of formation of state and historical identity, creation and theoretical substantiation of the modern history of the state of Kazakhstan.
There is also an Academic Council at the Institute.
Over the years, the Institute’s scientists have published more than 90 scientific papers (Monographs, Textbooks, Collections).
in 2018 – 8, in 2019 – 12 articles, in 2020 – 8 articles, in 2021 – 19 articles, in 2022 – 10 articles, in 2023 – 3 articles, in 2024 – 8 articles.
The Institute’s researchers systematically provide expert support in the media on the popularization of historical science, on the formation of historical self-awareness, as well as on the main priorities of state policy in the field of ideology and science.
Every year, the Institute holds scientific forums, round tables, conferences and other events to discuss topical issues of historical science in Kazakhstan, to familiarize the scientific community with the results of research projects, to develop recommendations to authorized bodies in the field of science and education, as well as to clarify the priorities of state policy in the field of ideology, science and education.
The Institute maintains constant contacts with leading domestic and foreign research, analytical, and educational centers.
Currently, 45 employees work at the Institute. Of these, 7 doctors and 9 candidates of sciences, 3 PHD doctors, 15 masters are specialists in the field of sociology, history, economics and humanities. The quality staff of the Institute is constantly replenished with established staff, which provides an opportunity for high-quality research work. Every year, young scientists of the Institute have the opportunity to enroll in the doctoral program of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU with targeted grants.
