Nurbek Busyrmanov graduated from Aktobe State University named after K. Zhubanov (Bachelor of History) in 2010, Master’s degree in 2013, and doctoral degree from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (PhD) in 2019.
He started his career as a history teacher.
Over the years, he worked as an expert of the Science Committee, chief expert of the Committee for Control in the Field of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2018-2021, Head of the Department of Internal Policy of Astana.
In 2020-2021, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science at the L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
From 2021 to 2023, Vice-President for Science of the National Academy of Education named after I. Altynsarin of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Author of 44 scientific and 18 research publications, the textbook “Kazakhstan tarikhy”.
He defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: “National idea as a factor of consolidation of Kazakh society.”
He graduated from the Faculty of History of the Kazakh Pedagogical State University named after Abai in 1979, the Institute of Advanced Training of the Kaz State University named after Al-Farabi (1987). He completed his scientific internship at the Monterrey International Institute (USA, 1994), the Hoover Institute of War, Revolutions and Peace at Stanford University. (USA, 2003). Under the Bolashak State Program, he completed a scientific internship at the Royal Institute of Social History in Amsterdam (Kingdom of the Netherlands, in 2014, 2015, monthly).
In 1988 he defended, and in 1998 he received the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences, In 1996 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “Socio-political and social development of Kazakhstan since 1970-1990.” Professor, Associate Professor of Political Science. He is the author of more than 120 scientific articles, monographs, textbooks for schools and universities in Kazakhstan. He is engaged in the history of the Jochi Ulus-the Golden Horde and the history of modernity. In these areas, he has published 17 articles in the international high-ranking journals SKOPUS, Web of Seins, 9 articles in the COXON of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Scientific Research Center. He is often published on the pages of the press and the media on current issues of our time.
After graduating from the Faculty of History in 1979, he remained at the department as a lecturer. In 1989-1990 he worked as a leading specialist in the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic, from 1990 to 1996 he worked in the office of the President of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic. From December 1996 to October 1998 – Director of the KAZGUU Center for External Relations. From October 1998 to May 2003, he worked as Deputy Director of the Department and Head of the Department. in the system of the Ministry of Information and Public Consent of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2003 to 2008, he worked Director-Editor-in-Chief of Kazakh Encyclopedias CJSC. In October 2008, he was appointed Director of the State Institution “Institute of State History” of the Ministry. Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2020 to the present, it is Deputy Director of the State Institution “Institute of State History” of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
B.G. Ayagan is an academician of the Kazakh Academy of Education, the Academy of Sociology, the MAIN, the Academy of Education, Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2022). He is a scientific consultant for the films “Koshpendiler” (Nomads), “Uly dala dubiri”, “Zhau zhurek my bala”.(1000 brave young men), “Hostages of War” (A film about KARLAG prisoners). On the initiative of the scientist, a scientific expedition “Along the paths of the Kazakh Khans” was organized in 2015, dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate. Co-chairman of the Working Group of Historians of Kazakhstan and Russia from 2013 to 2023. Chairman of the League of Professional Historians and Social Scientists. Deputy Chairman of the National Congress of Historians of the Republic.(2013-2019)
Member of the State Commission for Awarding the State Prize (from 2013 to 2023), Member of the State Commission for the Full Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression. (from 2019 to 2023), Member of the Republican Onomastic Commission under the Mayor’s Office of Astana (currently)
Ayagan B.G. was awarded the Order of “Kurmet” (Order of Honor) (2014), as well as 8 medals by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was also awarded the badge “Baspa zhane polygraphy isinin kayratkeri” (2005). “Birlik” (Unity) Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (2011), “Gylymga sinirgen yenbegi ushin” (For contribution to science) (2014). In 2022, he received the title “Kazakstannyn yenbek sinirgen azamaty” (Honored Worker of Kazakhstan). He has medals for his contribution to science in the Republic of Turkey.

Yerkebulan Alimkhanovich Zhumashov graduated in 2007 from the Faculty of History of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H. Akhmet Yasavi. In 2010, he received a Master’s degree from Ankara University in the Republic of Turkey. In 2020-2021, under the Bolashak International Scholarship program, he studied at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. In 2025, he joined the Dissertation Council of the L.N. Eurasian National University. Gumilyova defended her dissertation on the topic “Mechanisms of formation of the Kazakh model of local self-government” and received a PhD in political science.
Yerkebulan Alimkhanovich started his career in 2011 at the Center for International and Regional Studies of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University as a senior researcher. In 2014-2015, he worked as a chief expert at the Zhastar Research Center, in 2016-2019 – as a consultant at the Academy of Political Management of the Nur Otan Party, in 2019-2020 — as a project manager at the Rukhani Zhangyru Kazakhstan Institute of Public Development. From 2021 to 2024, he served as Director of the Center for Coordination of Methodological Work and Professional Development of Teachers at the National Academy of Education named after Yu. Altynsarina.
He is the author of 2 monographs, 4 scientific articles published in journals included in international bibliographic and abstract databases, and 9 scientific articles published in journals recommended by authorized bodies in the field of science. He has published about twenty articles in other scientific journals and conference collections, participated in the preparation of more than ten methodological manuals, analytical notes and explanatory materials.
Yerkebulan Ruslanbekovich Amangosov — Academic Secretary.
He was born on May 3, 1987 in the Bayganinsky district of the Aktobe region. In 2008, he graduated from the Faculty of History of Aktobe State University named after K. Zhubanov, and in 2013 he completed a master’s degree in Sociology at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. A doctoral student. He started his career in 2008 as a history teacher. In 2013, he worked as a researcher at the Center for Military and Strategic Studies JSC. In 2015-2017, he held expert and senior positions at the Kogamdyk Kelisim State University under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2017-2021, he was the chief expert analyst at the Institute of Eurasian Integration, where he was engaged in the preparation and coordination of sociological research. In 2021-2023, he headed the Center for Strategy, Science and Analysis of the Y. Altynsarin National Academy of Education. Since August 2023, he has been the head of the Scientific and Information Department of the Institute of State History.
His research interests include national ideology, political institutions, nation-building, ethnopolitics, educational policy, and the methodology of sociological research.
