On April 18, 2024, the Institute of State History and the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The Memorandum defines the following objectives: strengthening mutual cooperation, effective partnership in the field of scientific research and the implementation of joint cultural and educational programs. At the same time, Director of the Institute of State History Nurbek Busyrmanov proposed to test textbooks written within the framework of the 7th volume of the History of Kazakhstan on the basis of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai.

Today, our institute was visited by the deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Zhusup Nurtore Baytilesovich. The meeting was devoted to discussing the talking points of the Head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, “as an advanced nation, we must look only forward.” In this interview, it was said that ”new scientific institutions were created and former ones were modernized.” Here is one specific example – the Institute of the History of the State. There is still a lot of constant work. Nevertheless, Nurtore Baytilesovich and I shared our report and plan. The housing program “Zhas galim”, which was launched at the end of last year, pleasantly surprised the employee who received housing. In addition, at the end of 2023, we spoke with our employee who completed the internship “young scientist” of the Future program (USA, Turkey), emphasizing the need for commitment to national interests and realities. In the 15 years of the institute’s history, 99 monographs have been written, and we also got acquainted with the exhibition of these books. He also took care of the updated logistical equipment of the institute. ”Once, until you say it a thousand times.” Nurtore Baytilesovich duyim is the only citizen the public knows. Research directions for young scientists
By the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of State History, priority areas of scientific research on the history of Independent Kazakhstan have been identified. The presented directions are intended for researchers, applicants, doctoral students, undergraduates. These areas have been developed in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Institute. The information is posted on the official website of the Institute (https://history-state.kz/statichttp://admin .history-state.kz/media/Recommendations.2556107f1e9cd76cbbf0.pdf). In the near future, it is planned to consider the possibility of employing applicants conducting research in these areas. In addition, within the framework of cooperation with young scientists, the Institute will provide support both in the form of scientific consultations and assistance in completing internships abroad. Extensive work opportunities will also be created in the scientific library, the Institute’s laboratory, and the archive. Thus, the directions of studying Russian history will expand from year to year. To date, 10 universities are being trained in 15 universities of the country under the doctoral program “History” (D053), and 6 universities are being trained under the educational program “History Teacher Training” (D016).
New humanitarian education. A new testing horizon.
The Institute of State History and the National Testing Center have worked out the upcoming joint work. At the same time, the career guidance priorities of history issues were discussed in the context of the transition to a new format of unified national testing. As the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, noted earlier, “the new format of test questions resembles the international SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) exam. The child’s thinking is taken into account there first,” Director of the National Testing Center R. Yemelbayev noted that “this year 350 specialists have been trained and certified to prepare tests. They note that they are developing 5,000 new questions.” In turn, the director of the Institute, N. Pusyrmanov, emphasized the institute’s readiness to actively participate in the work on the formation of new humanitarian knowledge, the importance of the role of test queries in the modern professional orientation of students. In addition, Nurbek Serikovich noted that the history of Kazakhstan consists not only of numbers and dates, its training is focused on honing life skills, competencies of the student, the formation of categorical thinking and critical attitude. In addition, the 30th anniversary of the National Testing Center in our country has become a significant date, and this is a unique successful project in the history of an independent country, including in the national education system. In this direction, it was convinced that partnership work would contribute to accelerated sustainable reform of the education sector in the country.
Scientific history will become public knowledge
Today, the Institute of State History and JSC “Qazcontent” signed a memorandum on strengthening bilateral relations. The goal is to further develop the Qazaqstan tarihy Internet project in the form of a digital platform (“Digital history”) that promotes national history in electronic format. The new platform uses new technologies and multimedia tools to ensure that historical material is in a language understandable to the general public, to analyze historical sources, and to convey scientific conclusions. Bekzat Zhusupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Qazcontent JSC, noted that the platform provided an opportunity to support young historical scientists and publish their articles and research papers on the portal page. In turn, Director of the Institute of State History, PhD Nurbek Pusyrmanov noted the need to make history accessible to a virtual user through the possibility of digital media in explaining the history of the country through the portal. He also drew attention to the combination of cultural history and history with geography, the widespread dissemination of information about the history of Kazakhstan in foreign languages. Within the framework of the memorandum, the Institute of State History and Qazaqstan tarihy intend to implement joint media projects.
“Historical figures” scientific methodology of activity assessment
For the first time in the country, a “scientific methodology for researching and evaluating the activities of historical figures” is being developed. This idea was put forward by scientists at a meeting to discuss the promising tasks of the Institute of State History. The need for such a methodology arose at the second meeting of the National Kurultai in Turkestan on the basis of the principles outlined in the priority of modernization of historical consciousness. This was announced by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Fair Kazakhstan-Adal Azamat press conference in a speech entitled “there are figures of the Soviet era whose false biographies were deliberately written manually at the behest of some people. It is necessary to stop naming such artificial persons to various forms of manizd, and it is important to regulate all procedures in this area in practice. In addition to the specifics of the regions, it should also take into account national priorities.” Therefore, in the context of modern sustainable development, it is important to evaluate historical figures. When preparing this methodology, the Institute’s scientists will group it according to “local, regional and National” levels. Prior to that, 1992-2023. paying attention to the defended dissertations on historical science, 55 of the 772 dissertations relate to various periods devoted to socio-political activity, the legacy of individuals. Nevertheless, the restoration of the historical authenticity of personalities in the modern context, and an independent statement about the figures who contributed to the formation of Kazakhstan, involves the use of various sources of national patriotic value and self-motivation allows for expansion.
