International scientific and practical conference on “The Policy of unity and solidarity in Kazakhstan: experience and prospects”

On January 24, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference on “The Policy of Unity and Solidarity in Kazakhstan: experience and Prospects” was held in Astana at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the Institute of State History of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference was organized to analyze and discuss the 30-year experience of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in strengthening interethnic harmony and national unity, identify current challenges and prospects, and develop recommendations for the development of a policy of unity and solidarity in the face of global change. During the event, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Shchegortsova, Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Niyazova, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Kerimbek, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan D. Ahmed-Zaki addressed the participants of the conference with welcoming words. The event was moderated by the head of the Department for the Development of Languages and Archival Affairs in Astana, S. Esirkep, and the panel sessions were conducted by the Director of the Russian State Institution “Institute of State History” of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Pusyrmanov and E. Masagutova, Director of the Kogamdyk Kelisim State University of the Committee for the Development of Interethnic Relations of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.On the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, such important publications were announced as increasing the role of the state language as an instrument of interethnic communication, the widespread introduction of ethnomediation experience and the continuation of international cooperation in the field of ethnopolitics to share experiences with other countries. During the conference, a visiting exhibition of books, ethnic newspapers and magazines was organized, dedicated to the 30-year history of the Assembly. The conference contributed to the discussion of Kazakhstan’s unique experience in the field of interethnic harmony and national unity.
